"As a busy CEO and a recent graduate of the Penn State University online MBA program, I want to tell you how it exceeded my expectations. The combination of the online flexibility, the residency program (one week in the first year and one week at the end of the program), and the interactivity/team-building were more than I could have asked for. I learned a lot from my class cohorts, as well as from the coursework lessons. I travel a lot, so getting online at night from hotel rooms around the world made it convenient—yet, with all the excellent content (and more) of a full-time in-residency program. It was intense, but extremely rewarding. As Steven Covey says, we all need to "sharpen the saw" and the Penn State program certainly did that for me!"—Thomas R. Edwards, master of business administration

Curriculum

The objective of the associate degree in business administration is to provide people interested in management with enhanced communications and mathematical skills, socially relevant course work, and a choice of advanced courses in specific business specialties to develop well-rounded and application-oriented graduates

For those wishing to continue their studies, the 60 credits earned toward an associate degree may often be applied toward the requirements of a bachelor's degree at Penn State or at other institutions.

General Business Option (18–19 credits)

The general business option of the degree allows students to tailor the program to their needs and is available through the World Campus. The students select 18 to 19 credits in business courses. Course choices cover a wide range of topics including management, marketing, and labor and industrial relations. Courses should be chosen in consultation with your adviser to best take advantage of the benefits of this option.
